Billy Jack and Dirty Harry

Dirty Harry and Billy Jack were both released in 1971. They are mirror images of each other. Dirty Harry reflected a reactionary conservative backlash to the sexual revolution, the hippie movement, and liberalism. Billy Jack was a left-wing revolutionary vigilante that fought entrenched corruption and the status guo. Billy Jack was the left’s version of Dirty Harry.
