Unconscious Communication and a Dog Named Noodles

Soon after I know I will take Noodles on a walk, Noodles somehow also knows. She gets excited, walks to where the leash is hanging, points at it with her nose, then sits and waits. I cannot figure out how she knows we will go on a walk because I don’t think I am doing anything that would tip her off. To me, I just know I’m going to do it and I haven’t started making any overt preparations yet.

I may be sending unconscious communication to Noodles and she is receiving it. Or she could be perceiving something in me of which I am unaware. I don’t understand how this works. But some things occur whether we understand or not.
